Group Access

Authorizing a chat

Every chat is denied until it is on the allowlist. Two Telegram commands and two dashboard surfaces put it there.

Denied by default

A bot added to a group does nothing there

Adding the bot to a Telegram group grants it nothing. It generates nothing until that group is authorized.

What can be authorized

KindHow
Group or supergroupAuthorized with /authorize, /getid, the /menu picker or the dashboard Groups tab
A DMThe user's Telegram username goes on the bot's DM-authorized list, up to 50
ChannelNot supported

There is no limit on the number of authorized groups.

Not every feature needs an authorized chat

Image generation, image edit, /raid, the MP3 downloader, emoji pack creation and X automation delivery need one. /holders, the multi-chain scanner, the calls commands, buy bot posting and custom commands work in any chat.

/authorize

Authorizing a group from inside Telegram

  1. Add the bot to the group.
  2. Send /authorize in the group.
  3. The bot replies Authorized (<chat_id>). and the group is live.
  4. Promote the bot to admin in the group if it is not one already.

If the bot is not yet an admin, the reply adds: To unlock image editing and full functionality, promote me to admin in this group.

Owner or Memescale admin only

/authorize works for the bot's owner and for Memescale platform admins. From anyone else it only adds the chat to the dashboard's Discovered Groups list, with no reply.

Changing your Telegram @handle does not affect ownership.

/getid

Anyone can send /getid in any chat. It replies with the numeric chat id and adds the chat to the dashboard's Discovered Groups list, where the owner can authorize it.

/getid also authorizes, for the right sender

Sent by the bot's owner or a Memescale admin, /getid authorizes the chat in the same step.

A private invite link (t.me/+…) cannot be used to authorize a group. For a group reached only through one, send /getid inside the group.

Reviewing and revoking

The dashboard's Groups tab (Allowed Groups) lists every authorized chat with its title, chat id and member count.

Two ways to revoke

SurfaceAction
The /menu Manage Groups pickerTap a row to flip it to
The dashboard Groups tabTrash icon on the group's card, then confirm
  • Revoking stops generation in that chat immediately.
  • It does not remove the bot from the Telegram group.
  • It deletes no model and no account data.
  • Re-authorize with /authorize, or from the dashboard while the group is still in Discovered Groups.
  • Revoking a group does not stop the buy bot posting there; the buy bot has its own target list.
  • How one is removed
  • The buy bot's separate pool
  • DM authorizations
